ART classes and workshops FOR ADULTS
The Appleton offers a variety of opportunities for adults to learn something new and practice or fine-tune existing skills. Courses and workshops range from one day to multi-week sessions with local artists, art instructors and special visiting artists. Dig Into Clay
In these six-week sessions, create earthenware sculpture, vessels and other ceramic artworks using a variety of hand building or wheel throwing techniques. Workshop fees include instruction plus one studio day per week on Saturdays, 1–4 p.m., 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing. $200 members; $250 nonmembers.

Handbuilding: Mondays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Class dates: March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10
Wheelthrowing A: Thursdays, 6-8:30 p.m.
Class dates: March 9, 16, 30, April 20, 27, May 4
Wheelthrowing B: Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Class dates: April 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27
Art 101, One-Day Workshops
If you are 16 or older and would like to "begin at the beginning" with fun art lessons, these classes are for you! Art 101 is designed to inspire your creative side and provide a pleasant, successful experience. Morning and afternoons available; we provide coffee in morning workshops and ages 21+ may bring wine to evening workshops.
Fee includes all supplies. $30 per class for members; $35 per class for nonmembers.
Clay Bird Houses: Tuesday, March 7, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Thursday, March 9, 6–8:30 p.m.
Collage It!: Tuesday, April 4, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Thursday, April 6, 6–8:30 p.m.
Second Monday of the Month, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Learn the art of beautiful handwriting by joining the Ocala Calligraphy Guild, a group for all levels of interest and skill. The guild meets once a month on Mondays.

Drawing in the Galleries
First Thursday of the Month, September-May
Practice your drawing skills in this monthly, non-instructional program that lets you get up close and personal with artwork from the collection. Each month, choose a gallery and use the architecture and artwork as inspiration for your sketches. You must bring your own pencils and sketchbooks; stools are provided and benches are located throughout the galleries.
