The Appleton offers a variety of opportunities for adults to learn something new and practice or fine-tune existing skills. Courses and workshops range from one day to multi-week sessions with local artists, art instructors and special visiting artists. Cost per one-day workshop: $40 for Appleton members; $60 for nonmembers. All supplies are included.
Explore acrylic painting through these multi-week workshops for adults. All skill levels are welcome.
Palm Trees: Saturdays, January 6, 13 & 20, 1–5 p.m.
Florida Highwayman Landscapes: Saturdays, February 17, 24 & March 3, 1–5 p.m.
Cost per multi-week workshop: $75 for Appleton members; $95 for nonmembers.
All supplies are included.
In these six-week sessions for adults, create earthenware sculpture, vessels and other ceramic artworks using a variety of handbuilding or wheelthrowing techniques.

Handbuilding: Mondays, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Wheelthrowing A: Thursdays, 6–8:30 p.m.
Wheelthrowing B: Saturdays, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Cost per six-week session: $200 for Appleton members; $250 for nonmembers.
Fee includes 25 lbs of clay, glazes, firing and extra studio time on Saturdays from 1–4 p.m.
In this four-week session, instructor Sue Primeau will make everything possible in the world of watercolor. Regardless of your skill level, it’s time to have fun with watercolor! Learn at your own pace with plenty of hands-on painting time in class and one-on-one instructor assistance with informative critiques. As a teacher and passionate watercolorist, Sue’s goal is to show you ways to create beautiful paintings while having FUN. This workshop meets every other week.

Fashion and art combine in this one-day workshop where students will use a shawl as their canvas and create wearable art.
