ART classes and workshops FOR ADULTS

The Appleton offers a variety of opportunities for adults to learn something new and practice or fine-tune existing skills. Courses and workshops range from one day to multi-week sessions with local artists, art instructors and special visiting artists. Yoga for Adults and Teens
Three one-week sessions: June 6-10 | July 11-15 | July 18-22
9-10 a.m.

In coordination with our Summer Art Camp, adults and teens are invited to join us for morning yoga. Enjoy the serene, relaxing environment of the Appleton — it’s a great way to start the day! These one-week yoga sessions are led by Lori Witkowich of the College of Central Florida.

$50 per one-week seesion for Appleton members and nonmembers.

Dig Into Clay
Six-week Sessions
Fall 2016

Create earthenware sculpture, vessels and other ceramic artworks using a variety of hand building or wheel throwing techniques. For more information email

Members $200; Nonmembers $250
Includes: instruction and one studio day per week on Saturdays from 1-4 p.m., 25 lb. of clay, studio time, supplies, glazes and firing.

One-Day Workshops
Fall 2016

Ages 16 and up are invited to join these single day workshops designed to inspire your creative side and provide a pleasant, successful experience.

Members $30 per workshop or $145 for all six workshops
Nonmembers $35 per workshop or $175 for all six workshops
Includes instruction and all supplies.

Art 101

Drawing in the Galleries
First Thursday of the Month, September-May
3-5 p.m.

Practice your drawing skills in this monthly, non-instructional program that lets you get up close and personal with artwork from the collection. Each month, choose a gallery and use the architecture and artwork as inspiration for your sketches. You must bring your own pencils and sketchbooks; stools are provided and benches are located throughout the galleries.
